Mr. Melkumyan is one of our Paralegals for Affordable Advocates / HYASA Center, CA Non-Profit Organization.

He obtained his Jurisprudence diploma from Hrachya Acharyan University in Armenia in 2000, and completed a program in International Human Rights Law at Nottingham University, Human Rights Center, U.K., in 2014. At present, he attends Loyola Law School.

Mr. Melkumyan served as a Judge at the Court of First Instance of Kentron and Nork-Marash District of Yerevan, Armenia, in which capacity he tried cases concerning civil rights. He also worked on civil cases in the field of property and international trade. He also has experience as General Counsel, Armenian Development Bank, a Senior Lawyer at Converse Bank, Armenia, and as an Arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration, the Banks Association of Armenia. In 2013, he was recognized by USAID and Freedom of Information Center as the judge who successfully restored the violated access to information right.

Mr. Melkumyan brings highly valuable knowledge and experience in civil cases and international law, combined with his native upbringing in Armenian culture, to our mission to serve the underrepresented.
